Naomi Gilbert, University of Tennessee microbiology PhD candidate, researches how viruses impact and are impacted by their environment. While researching in the Sargasso Sea, the collaborative research atmosphere across the ship makes this the perfect opportunity for her to work alongside the world’s leading viral ecologists.
